It has nothing to do with fear, just a matter of not getting any enjoyment out of BR games. No reward is going to get me to play a game format I do not enjoy. Doing stuff I do not particularly enjoy for rewards is called work. I do enough of that already.
I find it funny that there is a guide for a "PvP" event that tells you how to not have to PvP. That should be an indicator that something isn't quite right. The Plunderstorm idea was good in theory, but the execution wasn't on point.I think if it were presented differently (I'm looking at you Mr. "you can easily breeze through levels"), or if they tweaked a few things it could have resisted a lot of the backlash.I'm one of those people who hates PvP so of course, I just naturally started hugging the storm for self preservation and to complete the quests; which also baffles me why they created a so-called PvP event with PvE elements baked in.
Or be like me and loot until you are about to be killed and then yolo into the storm so that sweat fullsending you gets zero plunder gain for his sweaty efforts.
Brilliant post! I loath pvp so I'm definately gonna try your strategy :-)
If you're feeling especially spiteful, I'm pretty sure Leaving Game before you die still results in your loot/plunder disappearing into the void, leaving nothing for a bloodthirsty player to loot....keep in mind that you'll forfeit whatever plunder you collected that round, but if you just really really HATE gankers, it's an option. Plus, you'll be effectively guaranteed to not run into that bloodthirsty player if you immediately requeue, since they'll still probably be busy seeking out other players to kill.
why is this terrible article pinned?
This is exactly my mindset and how I play. I even ran into the storm with another person and we died together side by side lol
To add something on this. Go duo mode even if you dont have a friend. Most people seem to be capable and you will have at least 1500 plunder every round (because 2 ppl obviously gather more and faster). If it happens to go well then you might go up to 5000 or even more. OH AND USE YOUR PINGS (and chat) it goes a long way if you plan to actually win.
One thing I would add: If anyone tries to fight you right off the drop, just leave the match and re-queue.There is no winner in that situation, even if you survive/escape/kill them you're now behind on the leveling curve and a very easy target because of the wasted time.
Thank you for this, holy moly that's good.I landed in the lake in Witherbark at the last fight I had, was an early top 10 winner.
Yea I aint into pvp either so much anymore, but for me the big annoyance is the massive grind involved. I might do this event.. one day. Or rather, I will gather the cosmetics from the trading post one day.
BS storm.
You had me at `scaredy cat`! Good job on writing this article to help your fellow non-pvplers. I wholeheartedly hate pvp. For me personally there is no sense of enjoyment in annoying another human being - and that is for me the core essence of pvp. Your article helped me to focus more on running away and plundering, while bracing myself for the inevitable. I also like your suggested improvements. It would definitely help to ease the pain of this grind for players who do not enjoy this gamemode at all. I made 3 renown levels since reading this! :-) Very proud of myself
Ty for your honest and optimistic view :)
If you can fight NPCs and bosses in dungeons and in the open world, then you can PVP. It's the same thing. Players just have more abilities. Easiest way to have fun in PVP.1 - pick a friend and play with them, double-teaming enemies as you run around the map2 - follow a group of players and attack enemies when they are busy fighting othersIf you do these things, you will die less, win more and not have to complain.
Thank you for this! This is exactly the kind of article I've been waiting for! I am not a PVP player. I just really dislike it! I am not a quick player, I like taking my time to see my surroundings and look at things.... BUT I really want to get the mounts! After reading this, I will wade back into the fray as a slow moving, easy target.... but will double down on collecting the plunder!
